From an ironworker’s perspective, the Savannah region is blessed with a huge amount of industrial activity.

Our work is almost all industrial, including worksites at paper mills, sugar refineries and nuclear power plants. We also work on commercial construction projects, and we have some maintenance work.

We're very busy right now on lots of projects, including a large, 2-unit nuclear power plant project that will require 300 of our structural members until about 2020.

Our sister Regional Reinforcing Local 846 is URGENTLY IN NEED OF MORE THAN 340 RODBUSTERS for the nuclear project. There are 2 two 3 years' more work for reinforcing ironworkers, great pay ($33.69/hour basic Journeyman wage) and, in some areas of the project, plenty of opportuinity for overtime. Some of our members are working 6 13-hour days a week! Apply to us (Savannah Local 709), and we'll pass your application along to Local 846.

We are very busy now. We welcome your application so when we need more skilled ironworkers than we currently have, we can call you.

Our 720 members are covered by pension & welfare and defined benefit pension plans that are fully employer-paid. We also have a defined contribution annuity plan. And we always work safe!

We welcome applications from non-union men and women ironworkers and apprentices.

Come work with the best!
