The construction industry is very active in Seattle, however Seattle Ironworkers Local 86 currently has a low need for more members. We are meeting our employers' needs with our current membership level.

Our apprenticeship school is also full, with a waiting list of applicants.

We will still take applications from EXPERIENCED ironworkers with years in the trade, but those applicants should be prepared for a long delay between their application and their possible entry into our membership. We will be accepting new members only to replace retiring members, or to supply a brand new, major project that one of our employers has secured and for which we do not have sufficient members..

We also welcome applications from ironworkers who are not currently represented by our union.

Come work with the best!
