Baton Rouge, LA
The 350 members of Baton Rouge Local 623 have been quite busy the last three years, but employer demand has recently dropped somewhat as industries wait for the expected recovery in the oil price for the regional economy to resume its normal activity.
Our work primarily involves maintenance work in large area oil, gas and chemical refineries and plants, as well as in power houses and a nuclear plant. One of our largest employers, Turner Industries Group, specializes in the maintenance of many regional plents.
Our training school offers apprenticeship classes two evenings a week from late August until May.
We are well paid. We work safe. And we and our families enjoy the protection of a good health & welfare plan and a defined benefit pension plan, both of which are employer-paid.
We welcome applications from men and women ironworkers and apprentices who are currently working for non-union employers.
Make sure we know how to contact you when we once again need new members to meet our employers’ needs.
Come work with the best!
