The extreme cost of real estate in Miami has driven many businesses and industries west to the Tampa Bay area.

That means a very significant building boom for the nearly 600 members of Tampa Bay Ironworkers Local 397. Virtually all our members who want to work, are working.

About $15 Billion worth of private commercial development is projected over the next few years. In addition, our members work for employers who build, expand and/or provide maintenance to large clients like Tropicana Juices, Pepsi, Gatorade and other food and beverage processing and distribution plants.

We admit apprentices year-round. They take an 8-week evening pre-apprenticeship course, followed by two, 2-week daytime classroom training classes per year.

Our members are protected by a strong health & welfare plan, and by both a defined benefit pension plan and an annuity plan. The health & welfare and defined benefit pension plans are 100% employer-paid.

We always work safe!

Please apply now so we can call you when we need more members to satisfy employer demand for people with your skills and experience.

We welcome applications from men and women ironworkers who are currently not working with a union company.

Come work with the best!
