If you’ve got experience, the folks in Alaska would like to hear from you, especially about work in the summer when Local 751 is really busy and we rely on travelers to help us meet employer demand.

There’s plenty happening in Anchorage, Fairbanks and Juneau, but there’s also huge growth in the natural resource sector. Alaska’s economy and its medium-term economic outlook is as good as we’ve ever seen it!

Our members are at work in several mines (expansion & maintenance both above-ground and below); as many as 4 new mines are planned within the next 5 to 10 years.

We expect that bids will be put out in 2016 for a $5 billion Liquid Natural Gas terminal. We’ve been at work at 2 wind farm sites, and we’ll be busy on 11 more in the near future.

Our 250 active members also work on all kinds of infrastructure, commercial and institutional projects.

Apprentices are welcome to train with us. And we welcome applications from people working outside the union.

Ironworkers in Alaska are paid a modest cost of living premium.
