Name just about any famous bridge or building in New York City since 1897, and our Local’s members had a key role in its construction.

Our reinforcing Local’s 1,600 members are involved in many private high rise tower, bridge, tunnel, roadway and other major infrastructure projects.

We’re also experts in ceiling sub-systems, so we’ve had a hand in the construction of large churches and cathedrals as well as big lobbies in both public and private projects.

We worked on the Freedom Tower and we’re now working on the huge, multi-tower Hudson Yards project, the largest private real estate development in US history. We’re also at work on the Museum of Modern Art and the 3.1-mile long, $4 Billion Tappan Zee Bridge over the Hudson River.

We’re so busy that in the summer (of 2016), our membership was supplemented by 400 boomers. We’re riding a healthy construction boom, and unless there is a radical shift in the economy, we expect to remain busy for the next 3 or 4 years.

Our members are very well paid. We have the protection of strong health and welfare and defined benefit pension plans, both of which are employer-paid.

We always work safe!

We welcome applications from men and women ironworkers and apprentices who are now working for non-union employers.

Come work with the best!
