Work in the Midwest has been good for many years. We have been at full employment for quite some time and the future also looks promising as well.

Local 21’s jurisdiction is most of Nebraska, South Dakota and the western part of Iowa.

Ironworkers Local 21 performs various types of jobs:

Structural Steel Erection
Precast Erection
Metal Building Erection
Curtain Wall Glass Installation
Wind Turbine Erection
Rebar Installation

Among our upcoming projects are a $300 million chicken processing plant, a $200 million sports complex, many parking garages and multi use development projects.

Our 4-year apprentice training program runs two evenings a week, fall through springtime.

There are also a wide array of journeyman upgrading courses available for our members.

We also need people in our Sioux City, Iowa region!

Major growth continues in this Local 21 sub-office region, so we have high demand for certified welders, experienced structural ironworkers and some rodbusters. Among other planned projects in the area, there are more than 1,000 new wind energy turbines to be installed in Iowa in the near future, and we expect to have a significant piece of that work.

As a member of Local 21, you are eligible for family health insurance, defined benefit pension and annuity.

Safety is a top priority for us. Local 21 is one of the few trades that has a signed Alliance with OSHA.

If you are a non-union Ironworker or apprentice, we welcome applications from you.

Come work with the best!
