Local 29’s 1,000 active members work on a wide variety of types of construction projects, with current emphasis on infrastructure, commercial, public water utility and educational projects.

Oregon’s economic prospects are improving, with many planned projects on the books. These include a large Liquid Natural Gas export terminal, several methanol plants and a very large medical research facility.

Local 29 welcomes applications from non-union ironworkers, as well as people wanting to begin an apprenticeship. The Local operates its own training center.

Local 29’s jurisdiction includes the entire state of Oregon, as well as 6 counties in southwestern Washington.
